FACEBOOK

I was talking to a friend the other day, and she pointed out how strange Facebook is. Don't misinterpret - I love Facebook, and I play on it all the time! She was referring to the fact that with Facebook, you have to be the same person to every single person you know.

I mean, you know know how when you're hanging out with your Grandma, there are certain things you'd talk about with her? And when you're talking to a business contact, there are certain things you'd talk about with them. You have all these different personas to keep with all these different people, and they rarely cross paths in real life. But all of a sudden, Facebook came into our lives, and we're communicating with all these people at once!

So when you update your status, you're telling your Grandma, your next door neighbor, and your 15 year old cousin all about the same things. It's strange to think about it - there's no separation! You tell them all. Just thought that was interesting. In a way, it kinda makes life easier. No more personalities to juggle! :)

On a side note, I'm growing a small baby bump. How fun is that? :) Pictures soon.

Very true... I think Facebook definitely keeps people more accountable in a way.

Sometimes I miss the days when not EVERYONE was on Facebook! I know exactly what you mean. I really have to think through all of the groups of friends and family on there before I post something. :)

Good point.. haha.. I RARELY update my fbook status anymore b/c it seems liek someone has something that disagrees with what I say. I like Glee? Oh well they need to tell me it sucks. I'm wanting a Starbucks? Well, they need to tell me how unhealthy it is. I'm like "AGH PEOPLE!" haha! So funny.

YAY for the baby bump, gorgeous!!!

There was a great Seinfeld episode about this (well, not FB, but about this problem), when George was going to have to attend an event with someone who knew "work George" and someone who knew "funny George" and his girlfriend who knew "romantic George," or something like that. It was pretty hysterical!

Good observation! : )
